**Each student needs to understand that cell phone use during class is not allowed at any time unless permission is given by the teacher to use for special circumstances. This includes making calls, receiving calls, any type of text messaging, picture taking, etc. It is expected that cell phones will be turned off (not just on vibrate) and put away during class time. If a student violates this policy they will be asked to give up their cell phone to the teacher for the remainder of class for the first offense, and if a second offense occurs the cell phone will be confiscated and given to an administrator. iPods, MP3 players, etc. are permitted while a student is working on his/her assignment as long as it does not disrupt the classroom.
